Soy Wax Candles
The new kid on the block in the candle making community is soy wax. Derived from the processing of soybeans, it is proving to be a legitimate alternative to the traditional petroleum based wax. Soy wax has several economical and burning characteristics that are very desirable. We are calling our line of soy wax container candles Prairie Glow, which we feel is indicative of the product and geographic area that it is produced.
Desirable burning characteristics of soy wax is that it burns much cleaner than petroleum wax, which contains known carcinogenic materials. While providing less soot, soy wax also has a much longer burning time than comparable petroleum wax candles.
Their are several economical advantages to the use of soy wax as well, such as it is a yearly renewable resource, and produced and manufactured right here in the United States.
